The enviromental footprint of the aluminium production
is one of the most important problems we share.

We care about the future of the planet

TH Remetall-S produces aluminium alloys using the recycling technology. For our production process we use different types of raw materials: alumocontaining slag, different types of aluminium scrap and others.. The alumiFreshAirnium recycling technology saves up to 95% of the energy needed to produce the primary product. Recycling involves melting the scrap, a process that requires only 5% of the energy used to produce aluminium from ore because of its low melting temperature about 700-800 ºC. Indeed, 90-95% of the primary aluminium producing energy can be avoided by using scrap gathering and utilizing system. In addition, each tonne of recycled aluminium prevents several tones of boxite mining that means reducing greenhouse gas emittions (such as CO2, NOх, SO2) and, of course, negative environmental impact.

However, the «care about nature» is much wider. We process slag and different typed of aluminium scrap including products which have lost consumer properties and are destined to be placed on dumps, sailings and special scrap burial places. If scrap is pre-treated and/or sorted appropriately, the recycled aluminium can be utilized for almost all aluminium applications, thereby preserving raw materials and making considerable energy savings.

Every production cannot be only just an independent system because of it permanent interaction with environment. Our aluminium refining company have carefully developed a wide set of measures to reduce the harmful influence on environment.

We provid complex of actions:

  • Technological process control and air-clearing equipment control;
  • Separate and safe gathering of production wastes and further transportation to the special factory for neutralisation, processing and burial placement;
  • Increase of the industrial wastes volume returning into the production cycle;
  • Quantity and quality control over air-polluting gases emittion;
  • The strict control over the requirements of ecological and industrial safety;

Aluminium has been recycled since the days it was first commercially produced and today recycled aluminium accounts for about one-third of global aluminium usage world-wide. Recycled aluminium is widely used in transport industry. 95% of the aluminium used in cars is collected and reused as automotive parts, or introduced into the recycling loop. Other modes of transport have similarly high recycling or reuse rates. Today the average car contains more than 120 kg of aluminium weight. About 60% of aluminium used in cars is recycled material. Aluminium is the ideal light-weighting material as it allows a weight saving of up to 50% over competing materials in most applications without compromising safety. 1 kg of aluminium in a car reduces CO2 emissions by 20 kg during its use phase. More over that, 1 kg of aluminium in an urban bus typically saves 40-45 kg of CO2.
